FAQ

How is the income tax withholding (PAS) calculated?

The PAS is estimated using the progressive income tax scale applied to your annual net taxable income, divided by your number of fiscal parts (quotient familial). A 10% professional expenses deduction is automatically applied. Your actual rate may vary based on personal circumstances.

What is the difference between deductible and non-deductible CSG?

Deductible CSG (6.8%) is subtracted from your taxable income, reducing your income tax. Non-deductible CSG (2.4%) and CRDS (0.5%) are deducted from your salary but do not reduce your tax base. All are calculated on 98.25% of gross salary.

What are fiscal parts (quotient familial)?

The family quotient divides your taxable income by a number of parts: 1 for single, 2 for married/PACS couples, +0.5 per dependent child (1 full part from the 3rd child). This lowers the applicable tax bracket and thus the total tax.

What is the difference between cadre and non-cadre?

Cadres (executives) pay an APEC contribution of 0.024% of gross salary (capped at 4× the social security ceiling). The employer also pays 0.036%. All other social contributions are identical.

How accurate is this calculator?

This calculator provides a close estimate based on official 2026 social contribution rates and income tax brackets. Actual amounts may differ based on your personalized PAS rate, collective agreements, or other benefits. For exact figures, consult your payroll department.
